When it comes to the effects we are after, or not, that is also a bit of a grey area.
We often hear about Sativa strains being more cerebral and uplifting, while Indica (In-da-couch) strains tend to be more relaxing and sedative.
This is a general rule and isn’t necessarily always the case. Cannabis has over 100 cannabinoids, – the chemical compounds secreted by Cannabis flowers.
THCA, THC, CBDA, CBD, CBN, CBG, CBC, THCV, CBDV to name just a few. Click here for info on each of these.
The only thing that is constant is change.
We are no exception to this rule. Consequently, each of us, as we go through life, are constantly going through changes.
The aim is to recognize Cannabis and the effects it has on our Endocannabinoid System and subsequently all our systems as a modulating action (controlling or adjusting) which works to achieve homeostasis (maintaining a stable, relatively constant condition) within our entire body and within every system. Some of our bodies systems include:
- Cardiovascular/Circulatory System
- Digestive/Excretory System
- Endocrine System
- Lymphatic/Immune System
- Musculoskeletal System
- Nervous System
- Respiratory System
- Reproductive System
- Integumentary/Exocrine System
- Renal/Urinary System
This video (albeit a bit long) clearly demonstrates the problem with pharmaceuticals and how they cause havoc within our bodies by disrupting the balance between systems. It’s worth a watch to understand how also, on the other hand, cannabis and CBD work to restore harmony within our bodies. Remember, this video is only talking about how CBD effects our systems. We have only really begun to seriously study Cannabis.
The effects you experience will be different as your body adapts to the medicine. One day the same concentrate which is high in THC could energize you and on another day it could make you want to sleep.
Our body is the most complex system we have at our disposal and fortunately we have Cannabis to work WITH our systems to restore harmony. We have been brainwashed for a long time by the pharmaceutical industry at large to expect a very specific result from most drugs. Sure, they certainly do offer very specific results but for a very short period of time and at a very high cost and trade off. Have you ever really read the pamphlet to, almost every single drug out there, and paid attention to the side effects?
We can never say we were not warned.
This is the inherent beauty of Cannabis as it works with our Endocannabinoid System to modulate and maintain equilibrium with all the systems within our body. There is no trade off in the sense of harmful side effects.
